TOPIC: Color Photos of Russia -- From The World War I Era?!?
At first, you might not catch the significance of the subject. When I read it on Damn Interesting, I didn't catch it either. My eyes immediately glanced at the photo... and then it hit me. World War ONE?!? Color photography was not available at that time -- the chemicals, paper nor film. Huh?!? Yet, in 1909 a photographer named Sergei Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorskii set out to document the beauty of his native country -- IN COLOR.
